Our House System

WHAT IS THE HOUSE SYSTEM?

The house system is an idea adopted from Ron Clark Academy to give scholars the opportunity to connect with scholars across classes and grades that they may not normally have a chance to interact with. This helps scholars gain more friendships and create a family-like culture at our school. The house system will make our school seem a little bit smaller.

The house system creates:

A change of culture
Makes our school seem smaller/more personal
Provides opportunities for students to connect across grades
Promotes core character traits
A sense of pride
To create leadership opportunities

WE ENCOURAGE ALL SCHOLARS TO EMBRACE THE TRAITS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE HOUSES AND STRIVE TO EMBODY THEM THROUGHOUT THEIR TIME AT NORTH STAR ACADEMY. WE ARE EXCITED TO SEE THE AMAZING THINGS OUR SCHOLARS WILL ACCOMPLISH AS MEMBERS OF THE SIRIUS, TARAZED, ARCTURUS AND RIGEL HOUSES.

WAYS TO SHINE FOR YOUR HOUSE

HOUSE POINTS

Throughout the year, the houses will compete against each other in competitions and events to accumulate house points. Individual students can also continue to accumulate points for their house by demonstrating their STAR qualities (Scholarship, Tenacious, Accountability, Respect).

CLASS DOJO

Points will be tracked using ClassDojo. Students’ Dojo monsters will be changed to their house crest. Students can continue to earn individual points on Dojo to earn class rewards.

ADD UP YOUR POINTS

At the end of the year, the house with the most points wins the House Championship—and all of the honor and glory that comes with it!
